Kitchen Supervisor

Job Description and info:

This full-time hourly position involves many facets of leadership, such as development of the tasting room kitchen, managing the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, as well as supervision of the kitchen staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • All team members assigned to the kitchen are under the direction of the Kitchen Supervisor. All kitchen positions serve as “Customer Service Ambassadors” by ensuring that the food we serve always meets or exceeds our standard of excellence at all times.
  • This position is responsible for setting the expectations for all kitchen team members.
  • Set the example of our company standards for every member of the kitchen staff, especially in the case of cleanliness, organization, or food quality, as well as meeting the standard for speed and accuracy.
  • The Kitchen Supervisor must be able to work effectively with limited direction, and simultaneously be able to inspire the kitchen staff by demonstrating leadership.
  • Maintain standards of food safety required by either the company or any state and federal regulations. This includes (but is not limited to) reporting necessary repairs to the maintenance team, ensuring cleanliness, and monitoring food quality and integrity.
  • Review inventory daily and report to the Tasting Room Supervisor in a timely manner when running low, as well as making a list of inventory needs for the upcoming week during every Sunday shift
  • Demonstrate flexibility in shift scheduling, including being able to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
  • Develop and train all team members to meet or exceed company standards and maintain a sense of urgency within the kitchen. This includes assigning daily workstations and managing breaks.
  • Identification of issues involving kitchen staff both inside and outside of the kitchen, and working with the employees to resolve issues without inhibiting operations.
  • Ensure a consistent level of sanitation is maintained within the kitchen under company policy.

    The kitchen staff members perform a wide range of duties in a fast-moving kitchen, assisting the lead kitchen staff, managers, and waitstaff with various aspects of meal preparation and delivery. Theys are also expected to assist in helping maintain the standards of cleanliness as set forth by the company.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assist in preparations such as preparing food, turning on appliances, double-checking the cleanliness of the kitchen, and other tasks that are assigned or may need to be done.
    • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen throughout the entire shift, including keeping the dishes done throughout the day, with extra care at the beginning and end of the day.
    • Organizes food storage areas and dishes to be brought to the customers, assisting the waitstaff in minimizing mistakes on customer orders.
    • Assisting in unloading incoming deliveries for kitchen inventory.
    • Ensuring the Tasting Room Supervisor has everything they need to keep operations within the kitchen and the tasting room, as smooth as possible. This may involve tasks other than those described here if necessary.
